Carey Olsen continues support for the Guernsey Child Contact Centre

Tuesday 18 September 2018

A team from law firm Carey Olsen has been lending a hand to the Guernsey Child Contact Centre to help upgrade the charity's facilities and equipment.

The Guernsey Child Contact Centre offers a safe environment for children and families to re-establish and maintain contact with parents, grandparents, siblings and other people who are important in their lives.

Volunteers from Carey Olsen's Guernsey charity committee spent a morning at the Guernsey Child Contact Centre helping to transform the outside area to provide a welcoming space for families.  The team built a new bench, a new outside storage area for toys and improved its internal storage facilities with purpose-built shelving.

The Guernsey Child Contact Centre is one of two nominated charities the firm's Guernsey office has committed to support through various fundraising and volunteering events for a two-year period up to June 2019.

Senior associate Adrian Sarchet, who is chairman of Carey Olsen's local charities committee, said: "The Guernsey Child Contact Centre carries out vitally important work for young islanders and I'm delighted that our enthusiastic volunteers were able to offer their support to transform both the outside area and the internal storage facilities at the centre."

Centre Manager Debbie King said that the charity was thrilled with the work: "It looks amazing and we are all so thankful to the Carey Olsen staff for giving uptheir Sunday to help us out. The changes they made look fabulous and will make such a difference to all that use the centre," she said.

Alongside the Guernsey Child Contact Centre, Carey Olsen staff are also supporting the Guernsey Cardiac Action Group.
