Black Vanilla wins double award

Thursday 17 March 2022

Black Vanilla is the first organisation in Guernsey to be awarded both the Community Champion and Environmental Business Operations Framework accreditations by ESI Monitor.

The PR agency has recently been awarded the Community Champion Award for its outstanding contribution to the local community and the Environmental Business Operations Framework accreditation.

Both accreditations require an ongoing commitment to becoming a sustainable business and minimising negative environmental effects as well as maintaining an active role in the community.

ESI Monitor supports organisations to improve their environmental and social sustainability through measurement, minimisation, management and benchmarking.

Black Vanilla Director Nichole Culverwell said: "This is a fantastic achievement which reflects our culture and commitment to not just our clients but our local community and the wider world. I'm proud of our team for their hard work and dedication.

"We see this double accreditation as simply the first step in an ongoing process to reduce our impact on the environment whilst increasing the positive role we can take in our community. We are very aware there is much to be done, and we are grateful for the guidance and support provided by ESI Monitor."

Black Vanilla’s contributions to the local community include offering reduced rates for charities, support free of charge, taking part in charitable fundraising events and creating initiatives that give back to the local community, such as its hedge stall.

The hedge stall hosts local businesses who donate a percentage of their sales to selected Guernsey charities.

ESI Monitor Managing Director Marc Laine congratulated the company on its achievement.

“Black Vanilla has shown great commitment to the local community and are working towards a green future. It is our aim to encourage other businesses to follow their example,” he said.
