Aztec Group appoints new CEO

Wednesday 25 January 2023

The founder of Aztec Group has changed roles, with a new Chief Executive Officer appointed to replace him in that position.

Edward Moore is moving into the role of Chair of the Group Board.

In his new role as Group Chair, he will remain actively involved alongside the rest of the Board in overseeing the strategic direction of the Group, alongside his existing role as CEO of Aztec’s wholly-owned data platform subsidiary business, Lantern Limited.

Mr Moore will be succeeded as CEO by current Group Chair, Kathryn Purves, effective 1 April, 2023.

Mr Moore said: “After 22 years as Aztec’s CEO, this is the right time for me to move into a new role within the Group. It makes me truly proud to see how far the business has come thanks to our incredibly talented people and the exceptional service we provide our clients, and I’m looking forward to working alongside Kathryn to ensure we maintain those strengths as the business continues to grow.

“As we evolve from a leading player in the European market to a truly global business, Kathryn’s operational skills and experience make her perfectly placed to have a more hands-on role. During her three years with Aztec Kathryn has come to know our people, how we work and our culture incredibly well, and is as passionate as I am about the future of this company. This role shift is very much a natural evolution, and I can’t wait to see the business go from strength to strength with Kathryn at the helm.”

Ms Purves added: “As Group Chair I have loved working alongside Edward over the past year, and I’m looking forward to continuing that excellent partnership in our new roles.‌

“Since joining Aztec’s Board I have seen first-hand the strong leadership and growth that Edward has spearheaded, having built a business that sets itself apart not just for its ambition and success in delivering an exceptional client experience, but also in how it cares for its people.‌

“I am taking on this role with strong foundations already in place for Aztec to continue to grow and evolve; from our expansion into new markets and the introduction of new technology, to the outstanding teams we have across our services and jurisdictions. I am honoured to take over the role of CEO and look forward to working with Edward and our colleagues as we guide Aztec through the next stage of our journey.”
