Appleby helps sale of Guernsey's bus company

Monday 31 October 2022

Offshore law firm Appleby acted for the Guernsey and Jersey sides in the recent purchase of the island's bus companies by the Kelsian Group and Tower Transit.

The sale went through last month with Tower Transit, a subsidiary of Kelsian Group, now running the bus services across both islands.

Acting as the CI counsel, Appleby was represented in Guernsey by Partners Jeremy Berchem and Richard Sheldon.

Samuel Ribeiro, Managing Director of Tower Transit, thanked the offshore legal teams for their advice: “The Group are delighted to take over the reins of both LibertyBus in Jersey and CT Plus in Guernsey and thank HCT Group for their commitment to the Channel Islands over the years and their positive collaboration with the Government of Jersey and States of Guernsey. Our aim is to maintain a business-as-usual approach whilst drawing on the experience and capabilities of the Group in the future. We proudly serve several Island communities in Australia and look forward to extending this high-quality service to the people of Jersey and Guernsey.”
