Appleby's Jeremy Berchem has handed over his role as Office Managing Group Partner to Richard Sheldon.
Mr Berchem has held the post for three years with Mr Sheldon taking on the role this month.
As Group Partner in the Dispute Resolution team Mr Sheldon advises on all areas of employment law including, strategic advice, litigation, transactional support and director / shareholder disputes, as well as advising on matters such as executive severance, employee share schemes, pensions, restrictive covenants, bonus disputes and trade union issues.
“I am honoured to be asked to become the new Office Managing Group Partner," he said. "The firm’s reputation is first-class and I’m looking forward to working with such a dynamic and energetic team. Their combined wealth of experience and vast knowledge of Guernsey law is an invaluable asset which enhances Appleby’s position in both the offshore legal industry and in Guernsey.”
Mr Berchem will continue to practise as one of Appleby's Guernsey Corporate Partners.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the Guernsey office for the last three years," he said. "However, the time is right to hand over the reins so I can fully focus on further developing my core practice. I know Richard will do a fantastic job and wish him all the success for his tenure."
