Man Club is a space for men to come together and Just Talk or Just Listen.
Based at the Vale Rec Clubhouse in Guernsey, every fortnight on a Monday evening, Men come together to support one another without judgement, and in confidentiality. This space is sacred.
Man Club uses a Native American tradition of using a Talking Stick. We sit in a circle, all men here are equal no matter age, race, or background.
When you hold the Talking Stick, no Man may interrupt you. It is time for you to speak your truth, your story, and how you are feeling. You can get anything you like off your chest. There is no judgment, all there is within the circle is unconditional Male Support. We are on your side.
“When in the circle no-one is in the front, no-one is behind, no-one is above, no-one is below” – Native American saying.
There is no obligation to talk at Man Club. Many find that listening to others provides a new perspective, as well as helping to build bonds of compassion. You are not alone.
There are no sign-ups, no registrations, new guys come each time and are always cared for. You can check out and leave a meeting at any time. You are always welcomed
A meeting runs from 7pm until 10pm. If you do not wish to stay for the entire duration, that is absolutely fine, you can check out at any time.
At Man Club, you will find Men of all ages and backgrounds. We honour and respect one another. In everyday life it isn’t easy to find a space where you can talk so openly without the other person trying to fix your problem, or applying judgment. In this space, you can get anything off your chest.
Man Club creates deep bonds and friendships. Outside of the Club, it has brought together a brotherhood of men who are always there for one another. The movement is growing day by day and Men are there to listen to one another, as well as to openly share about how they are feeling.
There is a huge Whatsaap group, sea swims, breakfasts, Guys meeting up for walks, runs, and just checking in on one another. We are a community.
Man Club is a Guernsey Mind initiative run by a number of men who are qualified Mental Health First Aiders. These Men facilitate the space by serving those that attend.
