New survey to identify economic and business trends

Wednesday 01 May 2024

A new bi-annual survey is being launched by Guernsey's branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

It's being launched to "help identify trends in economic and business confidence in the Bailiwick".

The IoD hopes that the findings of the survey will help inform deputies, civil servants, and the development of policy, by providing information "that is currently missing".

"We all need meaningful data and information to make the best decisions, and we have been very pleased to collaborate with the IoD head office who is helping us to manage the survey, and to have feedback from the States of Guernsey on the value of the data," said Richard Hemans, the IoD’s local lead on the economy.

"We hope that the IoD membership and other business leaders will participate in the survey, it only takes a few minutes and we look forward to sharing the results with our members and other stakeholders in late June."

The survey will take place every May and November, with the first one being launched on 13 May.

The results of that survey will be made public in June.
